Job Description

We will rely on you to:



Technical Underwriting/Broking



  • Responsible for the advice and placement of a client’s risk. Independently handles clients assignment on difficult risk exposures, or highest potential liability.

  • Negotiates with insurance & risk markets to obtain best terms, conditions, coverage and pricing for a client per Risk Practice guidelines.

  • Responsible for providing technical advice, product expertise and comprehensive review of client’s risk

  • Designs placement strategy to negotiate best terms, conditions, coverage and pricing for client.

  • Responsible for making recommendations to client based on multiple options.

  • Work with other members of the team as resource on Power and Construction Sector risks.


Claims Handling



  • Registration of Claims, on the Eurosys platform and on the physical Branch register.

  • Notification to the insurers on reported Claims that fall within the policy(s).

  • Ensure that on-the-spot assessments of claims is carried out by the insurers.

  • Follow up with clients on supporting documents and insurers for settlement offers and review acceptability of offer or otherwise with clients.

  • Accompany Claims team members on visits to Clients and insurer as and when required.

  • Follow up for settlement of claims with the Insurers.


Business Development



  • Actively execute sales efforts to achieve the New Business budget and implement a sustainable and ethical growth strategy for the construction and energy book of business, including new and cross-selling opportunities.

  • Manage approaches to major prospects, deliver new business projects, and increase profitability in line with the Company's strategic plan.

  • Work to grow the company’s book of business of Power and Construction sector clients by initiating and cultivating relationships with prospects that meet the firm’s qualification criteria.


Audit and Review



  • Compliance with Company’s Technical Broking Manual &AML/CFT Compliance Programme

  • Continuous review of risk transfer arrangements existing and new portfolio’s particularly when the cover changes, including internal review and audit of Insurances placements.

  • Contribute to and participate in the Group audit program for risk products.

  • Developing and Maintaining Audit programme to ensure compliance and adherence to correct Company procedure.


Financial Management



  • Calculate premium and issuance of premium demand note and/or processing return premiums. Additionally, credit control, and ensure prompt settlement of premium by clients.

  • Constantly reviewing and managing Clients statements/ledgers to ensure that all the payments are reconciled.


What you need to have:



  • Associate Chartered Institute of Insurance (ACII)

  • Experience in Business Development

  • Experience in insurance broking for a minimum of 10 years

  • Experience in building and managing client relationships.

  • Exceptional communication skills.

  • Analytical Thinking and Attention to Detail.

  • Proficiency in MS office tools.
