Job Description



The Role: 


As the Manager, Routing and Switching Operations, you will be responsible for collecting and analysing transaction data using different performance metrics to establish transaction routing and switching system performance patterns and trends, and providing actionable insights to aid partners’ engagement and make business decisions for better transaction success rate and cost reduction.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Monitor transactions and proactively resolve issues with relevant stakeholders.

  • Support on merchant issues.

  • Analyse merchants transactions and identify patterns and trends for engagement/ merchant education/awareness.

  • Generate competitor and industry success rate analysis reports when required.

  • Evaluate and analyze transaction processing system performance report to review performance of different transaction routing (using different metrics), provide and implement recommendations for improvement.

  • Participate in transaction routing partners’ performance review meetings to review partner’s performance based on analyzed data, identify areas for improvement and ensure implementation of agreed solutions.

  • Prepare Monthly Business Review report and review with supervisor.

  • Collaborate with the business development/sales team to improve merchant transaction success rate.

  • Maintain and manage relationships with strategic partners for immediate issue resolution.

  • Collaboratively work with internal teams to resolve identified issues/trends/patterns for optimising transaction success rate.

  • Engaging the data team to define new data collection or set based on need. 

  • Ensure all processes are properly documented for reference and be fully involved in transaction success rate improvement initiatives.

  • Engage in team’s knowledge sharing.

  • Prepare and share weekly/monthly business performance review reports 24 hours before the deadline.

  • Ensure 100% of issues or initiatives raised with other teams are closed within agreed timeline.

  • Meet the target set on transaction, merchants or MCC success rate in each region/country.

  • Guide, advise, mentor and coach junior staff and peers to develop and broaden their scope of skills, including providing on the job learning opportunities


Desired skills, competencies and expertise:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field

  • Minimum of 7 (seven) years’ proven experience in similar role

  • 3+ years in a people management role

  • Strong data analytical skills: Ability to analyse data and provide insights on issues and/or solutions that help decision making

  • Strong attention to details

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written)

  • Strong analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Good knowledge of the e-payment industry especially transaction switching and routing, Card Scheme rules/operations

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Work well with people of different backgrounds, identities, values and cultures

  • Actively Listen to understand and respond with empathy

  • Give and take constructive feedback to and from colleagues at any level

  • Honesty and Integrity as a watchword
