Summary of Role
Managing and analysing the company's costs to ensure effective financial planning and control.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct a detailed analysis of product costs, including direct materials, labor, and overhead, to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability.
- Monitor and analyze cost variances, providing explanations for any discrepancies between actual and budgeted costs.
- Identify and implement process improvements related to cost accounting procedures, contributing to the overall efficiency of financial operations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements related to cost accounting.
- Provide support in the finance department and contribute to financial planning and analysis.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years cognate experience in cost accounting or related roles in oil and gas industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on cost control and cost accounting
- Qualified Accountant (ICAN, ACCA)
- Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across departments.
