  • We are seeking a highly competent individual to join our team as the Head teacher of the Acorn Nursery School.

  • The head teacher will focus on academic excellence, creativity, and the well-being of our students.

  • The ideal candidate will have a passion for quality education, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to creating a stimulating learning environment that meets the needs of all students.

  • The ideal candidate must be a team player.


Job Duties and Responsibilities



  • Review the curriculum and collaborate with teachers to implement and ensure it meets educational standards and promotes student achievement in alignment with the school’s vision, mission, and core values.

  • Develop and implement a marketing strategy to improve school growth.

  • Train, supervise, and evaluate teachers to maintain a positive work environment.

  • Enforce school policies and procedures relating to teachers and students to maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.

  • Foster positive relationships with parents and community to support the school’s vision and mission.

  • Facilitate consistent professional development training for teachers and staff to stay updated on best practices.

  • Ensure learners with learning disabilities have access to an Individualized Education Plan after all assessments have been done by the parties concerned.

  • Coordinate standardized testing and assessment processes to evaluate learners' competence and progress.

  • Act as the spokesperson for the school, representing its interests to the broader community.


Qualifications



  • A Masters Degree in Education, educational leadership, or related field.

  • British and/or Montessori curriculum certification.

  • Member of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).


Experience:



  • Possess a minimum of 5 years experience working as a headteacher or school administrator.

  • In-depth knowledge of implementing the British curriculum. The Montessori curriculum is an added advantage.

  • Professional experience working as a Headteacher in the last 2-3 years.

  • Hands-on experience in school administration tasks such as admissions procedure, policy implementation, and compliance with educational regulations.

  • Use of data and technology in assessing students' and teachers’ performances to ensure standards.


Skills:



  • High proficiency in English Language; speaking, writing, reading, and listening.

  • Excellent communication and listening skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, teachers, and other staff.

  • Outstanding leadership and management skills to oversee the daily operations of the school.

  • Excellent organizational skills in effectively managing various aspects of the school to ensure growth.

  • Develop, implement, and review appropriate developmental curriculum to meet the needs of the students in line with the school's standards.

  • A good knowledge of state and federal educational policies and regulations.

  • Proficiency in educational technology to support teaching and learning.
