Job Summary



  • The Business Development Officer will be responsible for driving purchase of Scrap Batteries and to oversee the setup and running of collection centers - Ibadan, Lagos, Abeokuta.


Responsibilities



  • Purchase of Scrap Batteries:

  • Get daily market prices for sales and purchasing of scrap batteries, crushed and uncrushed plastics.

  • Generate new leads.

  • Report and provide feedback to management on leads that requires office support to close out.

  • Purchase 1000MT scrap batteries per month.

  • Monitoring competitors’ purchase activities.

  • Provide management BD team with reports on customer needs or interests, potential new products, or services, and competitive activities.

  • Maintain and expand vendor base within assigned territory.

  • Perform all other functions as assigned on coordination of new business projects.


Qualification & Experience



  • B.sc with a minimum of 3 - 5 years working experience in Sales and Business Development


Skills and Abilities:



  • Strong team player

  • Ability to manage time and to prioritise work effectively.

  • Proven negotiating skills.

  • Tenacious when it comes to problem solving/acquiring key information. 

  • Ability to work on own initiative

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong analytical skills - Initiate and develop practices, analyse, and use judgement to identify the best solution

  • Strong influencing skills

  • Prepared to work extended hours if required and to also travel
