POSITION SUMMARY:


ICAP at Columbia University, a global health leader situated within the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York City, seeks highly qualified candidates to serve as Executive Program Associate – Abuja, Nigeria. The Executive Program Associate Will Support the implementation of public health programs, including health promotion and disease prevention initiatives, assist in the collection and analysis of public health data to track community health status and identify trends, and contribute to knowledge networks and communities of practice.


ICAP seeks highly qualified and experienced candidates to fill the Executive Program Associate position by June 2024. The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in public health with 1 - 3 years of experience.


MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:



  • Support the implementation of public health programs, including health promotion and disease prevention initiatives.

  • Contribute to knowledge networks and communities of practice.

  • Collect and compile background information to support the development and formulation of potential/concept notes related to assigned programming areas.

  • Assist in the collection and analysis of public health data to track community health status and identify trends.

  • Support the implementation of public health programs, including health promotion and disease prevention initiatives.

  • Participate in the preparation and distribution of informational materials and resources to the public.

  • Contribute to emergency preparedness and response activities, including planning and logistical support during public health crises.

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate high-profile meetings, events, and travels for the CD.

  • Support internal and external communications of the CD by drafting key messages as required.

  • Track the Country Director’s daily activity calendar of incoming and outgoing correspondence directed to and from the CD.

  • Track, summarize, and file matters that require the attention of the Country Director and other SMT Members.

  • Perform all these and any other duties assigned to you by your supervisor.


EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor’s degree in public health with 1 - 3 years’ experience.

  • Proven working experience in project management.

  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented, discreet, diplomatic, dependable, proactive, and mature.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
