Job Overview

• We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to join our team at the Apapa Depot. The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards, overseeing the implementation of safety programs, and maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.


• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.


• Monitor depot operations to ensure adherence to safety protocols and standards.


• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and implement corrective actions.


• Provide safety training and education to employees, including orientation for new hires and ongoing training for existing staff.


• Maintain and update safety records and documentation.


• Coordinate emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.


• Collaborate with management and staff to promote a culture of safety.


• Ensure that safety equipment is properly maintained and readily available.


• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory changes.

Qualification

• B.Sc / HND in Engineering or Sciences.

Experience:

• At least 3 years of experience in the Oil and Gas sector.


• Knowledgeable in depot operations and safety equipment.

Other Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal skills.


• Ability to work under pressure.


• Proficiency in MS Office.
