Duties and Responsibilities



  • Represent and skillfully advocate for clients in court.

  • Draft and review court processes from case inception to conclusion, as well as other legal documents.

  • Advise and manage clients advise.

  • Conduct company compliance procedures with regulatory agencies and due diligence in commercial transactions.

  • Make substantial and positive contribution to the strategic direction of the firm.

  • Manage and oversee junior counsel, paralegals and legal assistants.

  • Interpret laws, rulings and regulations, as well as ordinances of quasi-judicial bodies to determine ramifications for cases.

  • Prepare legal opinions in-house and for clients.

  • Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.

  • Overseeing delivery of legal services and resources to accomplish first-class legal outcomes.

  • Maintaining relevant corporate interactions with the relevant local, state and federal governmental bodies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications / Experience



  • LL.B Degree from a reputable university (with a minimum of 2nd Class Upper). LL.M will be an added advantage.

  • Must be called to the Nigerian Bar.

  • Minimum of 13 years post call experience in both corporate law and litigation, and must have worked with reputable firms in these fields.

  • Experience in drafting briefs at the appellate courts will be an added advantage.
