Job Summary
The Retail Sales Manager will manage the day-to-day retail sales operation of our business, drive and champion sales initiatives, ensuring smooth functioning, optimizing sales, and enhancing our overall customer experience. You will manage a team to ensure smooth acquisition and onboarding of retail partners on our platform.
What you will be doing
- Drive and champion sales initiative.
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with retail partners to understand their needs, challenges, and opportunities.
- Supervise the Team leads/ Retailer Success Associates responsible for acquiring and onboarding retailers on our platform
- Act as the primary point of contact for key retail accounts, ensuring satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new retail partners, ensuring seamless integration into the platform.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in the retailer management function.
- Set sales targets and develop strategies to achieve them.
- Monitor sales performance and implement initiatives to boost sales.
- Gather feedback from retail partners regarding platform usability, features, overall satisfaction, and make adjustment as needed.
- Develop long term and collaborative business partnerships with key customers.
- Identify and implement Market Access, demand and supply opportunities as required.
- Collaborate with internal teams to implement improvements based on feedback.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback for improvement.
- Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Prioritize key risks & opportunities per account.
- Report on daily activities within set timelines, customer base and categorization, input regularly on objections and customer behavior to central functions.
Special Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in retail management, account management, or a related role in an E-commerce or FMCG distribution company.
- Extensive experience with retail sales driven by field officers.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Strong team-working and project management skills – able to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Strong influencing skills: the ability to align cross functional teams both internally and within accounts, and the ability to influence without direct authority i.e. outside of a line management responsibility.
- Customer-focused mindset with a passion for building and maintaining positive relationships.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
