Job Description with Purpose of Role

• As a Senior Operator specialized in teeming crane operation at African Steel Mills, your role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient casting process.


• Reporting to the Shift In-charge of the Caster department, you will be responsible for a range of tasks essential to the casting operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for ladle movement underneath furnace during tapping.


• Responsible for proper placing of ladle at Caster.


• Responsible for minor or routine maintenance and repair jobs.


• Respect the good housekeeping and keep all access areas clear at the transformer, control panel and substations.


• Respect the safety rules and regulations.


• Carry out any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

Academic Qualification:

• OND / HND / ITI in Production Engineering


• Bachelors in Production Engineering

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in Steel manufacturing plants


• Experience in teeming crane operator at Continuous Caster Machine (CCM)

Core Functional Experience:

• Ladle Crane Operation


• Load Management


• Maintenance and Inspection


• Operational Efficiency


• Emergency Response


• Technical Knowledge.


• Understanding of the mechanical and technical aspects of crane operation, including the use of control panels, hoisting mechanisms, and the physics of load distribution.
