Brief Job Description with Purpose of Role

• As a Senior Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and equipment using advanced welding techniques. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings, and expertise in various welding processes.


• This role is crucial for ensuring the structural integrity and safety of the equipment and structures within our facility.

Core Functional Experience

• Welding Techniques: Proficient in TIG, MIG, and Arc welding, ensuring high-quality welds across various materials and thicknesses.


• Pipe Welding: Skilled in pipe welding, including gas, diesel, hydraulic, and water pipes, ensuring seamless and neat joints.


• Safety Measures: Strong adherence to safety measures during all welding processes to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.


• Fabrication Competency: Competent in the fabrication of metal structures, following project specifications and blueprints accurately.


• Equipment Maintenance: Experienced in maintaining welding equipment and performing routine maintenance to ensure optimal operation.

Key Responsibilities

Blueprint and Technical Drawing Interpretation:

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding procedures to understand project specifications.

Fabrication and Assembly:

• Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment according to project specifications, ensuring precision and quality.

Welding Operations:

• Operate welding equipment safely and efficiently, including arc welders, MIG welders, TIG welders, and oxy-fuel cutting equipment.


• Perform welds using appropriate techniques to ensure structural integrity and quality.

Inspection and Testing:

• Inspect and test welded surfaces and structures to detect flaws, defects, and deviations from specifications, ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Equipment Maintenance:

• Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition, performing routine maintenance as needed.

Pipe Welding:

• Ensure gas, diesel, hydraulic, and water pipes are welded seamlessly and neatly, maintaining high standards of workmanship.

Pump Alignment:

• Ensure pumps are aligned accurately according to requirements, supporting the overall mechanical system integrity.

Safety Compliance:

• Follow all safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment for all personnel.

Collaboration:

• Collaborate with other team members and departments to meet project deadlines and objectives, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

Requirements

Academic qualification:

• Trade Test, ND/HND in Mechanical Engineering


• B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience:

• 6 - 10 years experience in steel manufacturing unit


• Desired: 12 years experience in Hot Strip Mill.
