Job description



  • The Structural Engineer will be responsible for providing structural analysis, design, and oversight for our real estate development projects. The successful candidate will work closely with architects, construction teams, and regulatory agencies to ensure that our projects meet safety, performance, and sustainability standards.

  • As a structural engineer, you will spend time both in our office – designing and planning project details, and on site where you will provide technical advice to construction workers.


Key Functions & Responsibilities



  • Conduct structural analysis and design for residential and commercial properties.

  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations in accordance with applicable building codes and regulations.

  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other project stakeholders to develop cost-effective and innovative structural solutions.

  • Review and analyze structural plans, drawings, and specifications to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with project requirements.

  • Perform site inspections and assessments to evaluate structural conditions and provide recommendations for repairs or modifications as needed.

  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and obtain necessary permits and approvals for construction projects.

  • Participate in project meetings, provide technical guidance and support, and communicate progress and updates to project teams.

  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in structural engineering and real estate development.


Competencies



  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • 10-15 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in the real estate development industry.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Excellent mathematical, IT and mechanical skills.

  • Ability to analyze complex problems and assess solutions.

  • Ability to clearly explain and evaluate design plans and ideas.

  • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and other related tools.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and meet deadlines.

  • Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.

  • COREN, NSE certified
