Job Summary:
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team.
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, and will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the clinic.
- This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work collaboratively with the clinic's administrative and medical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Manage all aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Payroll Management:
- Process payroll accurately and on time.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Assist with audits and tax planning activities.
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Provide insights and recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
General Ledger Maintenance:
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Internal Controls:
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard the clinic's assets.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as ICAN is an advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare or clinical setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Tally) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Nigerian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Integrity and ethical conduct in handling confidential financial information.
