Responsibilities

• Lead the core platform team and coordinate with digital team members


• Work cross-functionally with the platform team. Take the lead on designing and deploying APIs, new data transformations, managing databases, and supporting production operations


• Lead the creation of tools for infrastructure management, monitoring, and scalability


• Take the lead on building and maintaining development and deployment tools for the stack


• Create, deploy, configure, support, and troubleshoot issues with networked application environments


• Collaborate with engineering and research teams to architect and deploy algorithms, provide operational support for our new and existing applications, and debug production issues


• Monitor team performance and report on metrics. Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture to set clear goals and expectations, delegate tasks, and meet deadlines

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in computer science or another related field


• Must have completed the compulsory 1-year NYSC or have an exemption certificate


• Deep understanding of the stored procedure languages used by core banking systems


• 8+ years of direct software design and development experience


• 3+ years of experience in applying modern frameworks and patterns to build highly scalable enterprise SaaS applications


• Proven track record implementing core banking platforms in banking or fintech domains


• Extensive experience with Java/J2EE, Hibernate, JMS, Spring (Core, MVC, Integration), REST APIs, MySQL


• Advanced knowledge of core banking platforms and how to expose the core banking capabilities as consumable services (RESTful services)


• Experience with Agile methodology, test-driven development, source control management, and automated testing


• Banking industry experience is required


• Familiarity with SDLC tools. Working knowledge of Agile software development is a plus


• Knowledge of Ant, Maven, Git, SVN, Jenkins, Travis, Puppet, Ansible, and Docker is considered an advantage


• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills


• Professional fluency in English is vital, both written and spoken
