Job Summary

• We are looking for a Discrete Control System Operator (DCS) - Power Plant to join our team at Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc. As a Discrete Control System Operator - Power Plant, he/she will be accountable for the Operation, Maintenance, Control System of Power Plant, and downtime of Power Plant.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Responsible for overseeing of the operation and performance of a distributed control system.


• Ensure trouble-free operation of all Power Plant equipment by adopting Preventive /predictive maintenance.


• Oversee and ensure safe smooth and efficient operation of the process plant and utilities system.


• Maintaining & troubleshooting of all types of systems of the plant to enable achieving the Power Generation as per the target by adopting and initiating necessary action and corrective measures.


• Maintains the history cards of the equipment encountered and keeps track of maintenance activities attended.


• Operates Control panel to regulate temperature, pressure, rate flow, and take level in processing.


• Shall report to the DCS Engineer Power Plant any events of Operational of Equipment and its parameters complications.


• Ensure adoption of SOP during operation.


• Ensure and Maintain Synchronization with process dept along with engineers for sound free operations.


• Participate in Servicing and maintenance of the Power plant equipment during off crop period.


• Maintaining and ensure the safety in all activities of operation.

Requirements

• Must hold a minimum of a Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a Diploma in Turbine Engineering.


• Has at least 5-7 years of experience in operating Power Plants, with Bagasse Based Power Plant experience being an added advantage.


• Has hands-on experience with Travelling Grate Boilers using Bagasse as Fuel, with a minimum pressure rating of 87 Bar.


• Has experience with Back Pressure and Condensing Turbines.


• Has experience with Fuel and Ash Handling Systems, and is well-versed in Boiler and Turbine DCS Automation Operations.


• Possesses basic computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
