Position Description
The EDC officer will be responsible for collecting and overseeing all aspects of electronic data collection (EDC) for the proposed Lymphatic filariasis (LF) Transmission Assessment Survey (TAS) in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Katsina States. This role includes data collection using Open Data Kits (ODK), troubleshooting data collected and ensuring accuracy and integrity of survey data.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the assessment team.
- Conduct field visits to schools, to collect data.
- Data Management and Analysis
- Participate in field review meetings and present data issues for program improvement during survey
- Ensure data collection processes adhere to ethical standards and protocols.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare detailed reports on survey findings, including quantitative and qualitative reports.
- Document best practices, challenges encountered, and lessons learned during the survey process.
Reporting Line
- EDC officers will report directly to Act | East’s MERLA manager and will collaborate closely with other project team members and stakeholders.
Duration
The term of assignment for EDC Officers will be two weeks (14 school days excluding weekend), with a possibility of extension based on project needs and performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, information technology, social science, education, or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in electronic data collection for health survey or similar projects.
- Proficiency in the use ODK for data collection.
- Strong understanding of survey methods and tools.
- Good problem problem-solving skills and attention to details.
- Ability to work in remote and potentially challenging field environment.
- Familiarity with the local context and languages is an advantage.
