About the job

• We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Summer Camp Facilitator to join our team at Workcentral on a contract basis for the summer.


• The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and organizing camp activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of campers, and providing an engaging and educational camp experience.


• This role requires strong leadership skills, a passion for working with children, and the ability to thrive in an outdoor and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, lead, and facilitate a variety of camp activities, including games, arts and crafts, sports, and educational workshops.


• Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers by following established safety protocols and procedures.


• Create a positive and inclusive camp environment that encourages participation and fosters a sense of community.


• Supervise and mentor campers, providing guidance, support, and conflict resolution as needed.


• Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on camp activities and addressing any concerns.


• Assist in the setup and cleanup of camp facilities and equipment.


• Collaborate with other camp staff to develop and implement camp schedules and programs.


• Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and camper progress.


• Stay up-to-date with best practices in camp facilitation and youth development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Recreation, Child Development, or a related field.


• Proven experience as a camp counselor, youth leader, or in a similar role.


• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.


• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.


• First Aid and CPR certification preferred.


• Ability to work outdoors and engage in physical activities.


• Self-motivated with a positive and energetic attitude.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
