Job Summary
The Deputy CFO supports the Chief Financial Officer in overseeing the financial operations of the organization. This role involves assisting in the development and implementation of financial strategies, policies, and plans.
Responsibilities
- Proven ability to create, coordinate, and evaluate financial programs and modelling tools required to manage the budgeting, tax planning, new business investments and project financing activities of the group
- The day-to-day management of all expenditure and revenue generating activities inclusive of departmental budgets, payroll and procurement functions
- Coordination and management of all financial reports, financial analysis, and performance reports
- Work with the treasury team and day-to-day monitoring of investments
- Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards
- Manage the financial impact of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs, and systems
- Manage cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders
- Analyze financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas
- Provide management oversight for financial operations, including working capital, capital expenditures, debt levels, taxes, budget, and general accounting
- Establish and maintain stable cash flow management policies and procedures and ensure cash resources are available for daily operations and business and project development
- Manage all funding relationships particularly debt raising initiatives
- Any other duties that may be assigned by the CFO and MD
Requirements
- BSc in Accounting and other related disciplines
- ICAN Chartered
- MBA (an international financial certification - ACCA or CFA is an advantage)
- Minimum of five(5) years work experience with at least two (2) in a management
- position in project financing, financial advisory or investment banking sectors.
