Job Description



The company is seeking to hire a Head of Finance and Accounts who will be responsible for the budget and financial management, financial compliance, and financial reporting of the company.



The Head of Finance and Accounts will ensure the effectiveness of the company by developing and directing an appropriate financial planning strategy, and accounting practices as well as managing its relationship with lending institutions and shareholders by ensuring the focus is on optimal returns of business investment through judicious use and application of financial resources.



Key Responsibilities:



Budget Management



  • Coordinate the preparation process of the annual budget of the company and track actual vs budget.

  • Conduct in-depth analysis to identify specific trends, explain past performance and recommend opportunities for improvement, within the group

  • Analyze budget implications for the company and advise management.

  • Participate in decision-making and its implementation in the company budget.


Financial Management



  • Manage the company's Financial Operations functions – Fixed Assets, Revenue, Expenditure, and General Ledger.

  • Coordinate the collation of financial plans and annual budgets for all operating companies that would support the achievement of the corporate strategy.

  • Oversee the performance of financial service providers and take steps to discontinue high-risk relationships.

  • Manage foreign exchange risk and interest rate exposures and escalate the same to management.

  • Management of the Company’s Tax affairs


Financial Compliance



  • Provide operational support including maintaining the budget, Profit and Loss accounts, programs, and contract analysis.

  • Implement finance policies as well as guarantee compliance with established internal controls, Processes, Policies, Procedures, and IFRS in processing all transactions.

  • Monitor annual audit of financial reports of the company.

  • Review the budget from all Heads of Department in the group and prepare a consolidated report for the Management


Financial Reporting



  • Manage the accrual process and prepare detailed reports about discrepancies and amendments that occur in the budget during the financial year and other performance reports on a timely basis for relevant stakeholders.

  • Prepare periodic reports and presentations to the management. (These reports include the balance sheet, cash flow, and any other required report)

  • Analyze the general Ledger transactions (Capex, Opex, and Revenue) and all transactions posted into IFS to ensure proper classification and correction, as well as aging of all Balance Sheet accounts.

  • Prepare trend analysis of Capex, Opex, and revenue transactions, all General Ledger/Sub- ledger Accounts reconciliation, as well as weekly and monthly performance reports


Requirements



Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/ Accounting/ Business Administration or related field

  • Master’s Degree or an MBA

  • Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA)/Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA) or its equivalent)


Relevant Experience



  • Minimum of 10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles in the Finance/Treasury/Accounts function in a Management Position.

  • Excellent Skills in Corporate Finance strategies, methodologies, and applications including generally accepted Audit Standards and principles and International Finance Reporting Standards.

  • Strong leadership qualities and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
