Job Summary
- The Commercial/Business Development Executive is saddled with the responsibility to add meaningful value to the bottom line working with the Commercial Manager. We seek a talent with competence in driving business growth and expansion opportunities for our company.
- The candidate will have a strategic mindset, excellent networking skills, and a track record of successful business development initiatives in the maritime industry. He/she will be responsible for identifying, creating, and pursuing business growth and expansion opportunities.
Key Responsibilities for the Business Development Manager
- Assist in building, nurturing, and maintaining client relationships and other business stakeholders.
- Prepare and coordinate presentations/conferences/meetings with internal and external customers.
- Pitch our services to new customers and offer new services to existing customers.
- Research new markets and develop new business strategies.
- Identify Opportunities and make presentations to prospective clients and investors
- Assist in overseeing branding and marketing endeavours for business goals’ attainment.
- Assist in negotiating new projects and contract terms with new clients.
- Coordinate and liaise with inter-department/inter-company requirements as assigned.
- Recommend tactics, approaches, or new product changes based on market data.
Required Skills (Must have at least, 90% of the below skills to apply)
- A University Degree/HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Maritime Studies, International Business or any other related field.
- Between 3 – 5 years experience in business development, marketing and sales in the maritime industry is preferred; an understanding of maritime logistics and shipping operations.
- Knowledge of the maritime industry including shipping regulations, vessel operations, port operations, freight rates and market trends
- Proven ability to identify and cultivate new business opportunities, develop strategic partnerships and expand the market presence.
- Skills in communication, negotiation, proposal writing and knowledge of strategic business development.
- Strong networking skills to establish and maintain relationships across various levels.
- Excellent computer skills and application use.
