  • The incumbent will contribute to the development of the Specialty growth strategy, establishing and delivering the strategic priorities relevant to Specialty in the region. Leading the drive and execution of a sales culture across Specialty.

  • The incumbent will assume responsibility for the delivery of key projects, including the execution of growth strategies and developing a more collaborative and connected focus around network/clients.

  • To be successful in this role it will be essential to optimize and drive relationships with key stakeholders. This is a full-time role, and the incumbent is required to demonstrate passion and hunger in the fulfilment of their key responsibilities.

We will rely on you to:



  • Provide leadership that reflects a strong client and colleague focus and a commitment to delivering best-in-class services that benefit our clients

  • To develop and grow income and business

  • Responsible for insurer binder facilities (renewals, risk profiling, claims authorization)

  • Responsible for service delivery to the clients and ensuring successful renewal of insurance contracts

  • Oversight of technical, claims and service delivery teams and ensuring standards are properly implemented for clients in terms of quality management systems

  • Preparation of budget for the division and understanding the importance of client profitability

  • Keep abreast with the insurance markets (both local and overseas)

  • Constantly build relationships between client, suppliers and the company

  • Fostering of sound working relationships with other functional business units

  • Familiarity and compliance with all company policies, statutory and regulatory requirements

  • Travelling to service accounts

  • Comprehensive knowledge of all standards applicable in respect of the client service delivery function

  • Ensure all products and services available within Marsh Africa are marketed to the client as appropriate

  • Participation and representation on various industry forums

  • To identify, develop, and coach key talent and ensure succession planning

  • Ensure all client queries expeditiously addressed

  • Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines according to company standards

  • Oversee negotiation with the local and reinsurance market (via the reinsurance brokers)

  • Review quotations from the market and make recommendations

  • Ensure receipt of signed placing slips, wordings, endorsements

  • Ensure compilation and submission of closing instruction to the market in accordance to company standards


What you need to have:



  • Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute Nigeria

  • Impeccable communication skills (both written and verbal) with a focus on efficiency and clarity.

  • Desire to succeed in a demanding, innovative, and entrepreneurial environment.

  • Self-starter with a track record of seamless execution of complex projects with minimal guidance.

  • Analytically minded and efficiency-minded.

  • Detail-oriented, strategic thinker with analytical problem-solving capabilities and thrives in ambiguity.

  • Highly organized and comfortable with creating structure, presentations and workflows.

  • Ability to create effective relationships, influence and collaborate internally and externally at all organizational levels.

  • Ability to learn quickly and maintain a high-performance level in a fast-paced, high volume environment.

  • Ability to drive change and effect change management.

  • Ability to engage and execute solutions for clients with limited support

  • Knowledge & broking experience of the Construction, Energy & Marine sectors

  • Demonstrated ability to bring in business

  • Practical knowledge of the Nigerian Regulatory Environment
