Overview
- The Head of Sales, Marketing, and Business Development is a pivotal leadership position responsible for driving the company's revenue growth and market expansion across diverse sectors including telecommunications, oil & gas, hospitality, education, and public/private sectors with a goal to develop and implement effective sales strategies, explore new market opportunities, and enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales, marketing, and business development strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and aligned strategic initiatives.
- Identify and open new market channels that align with company strengths and market demands.
- Strengthen relationships with existing clients while seeking new business opportunities.
- Oversee the expansion into untapped markets, ensuring the company's services meet diverse customer needs.
- Drive the achievement of sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) across various regions.
- Manage major change projects within the sales function to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure that sales operations are cost-effective, adhering to the operational budget and expenses.
- Foster strong relationships with trade partners to maximize the return on trade investments.
- Provide strategic input into the development of the field sales/route-to-market strategy.
- Actively participate in the Commercial Plan process and support the implementation of channel, category, and customer plans.
- Lead and mentor the sales, marketing, and business development teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Identify and develop future business leaders within the team.
- Encourage teamwork and collaboration across different functions to achieve common goals.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance data, providing regular reports to the executive team.
- Use data-driven insights to adjust strategies and improve performance.
- Ensure all sales activities are documented accurately and timely in CRM systems.
Education/Knowledge, Skills, Attributes, Experience & Other Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, IT, or a related field.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, marketing, and business development roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
- Experience in telecommunications, oil & gas, hospitality, education, and IT sectors is highly desirable.
- Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in market analysis and competitive analysis.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and financial performance.
- Knowledge of CRM systems and sales performance metrics.
