- We are seeking a skilled WordPress and PHP Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of WordPress core functionality, PHP programming, and experience in developing custom Gutenberg blocks.
- As a WordPress and PHP Developer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining WordPress websites, developing custom themes and plugins, and creating Gutenberg blocks to enhance the editing experience for users.
- You will collaborate with our design and content teams to implement new features and functionalities, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Create custom Gutenberg blocks to extend the functionality of the WordPress editor using React.
- Collaborate with design and content teams to implement new features and designs.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues related to WordPress websites and plugins.
- Optimize WordPress websites for performance, scalability, and security.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members and clients.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure code quality and standards are maintained.
- Customize and extend existing WordPress themes and plugins as needed.
- Document technical specifications, processes, and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a WordPress Developer with strong PHP programming skills.
- Experience in developing custom Gutenberg blocks and familiarity with React.js.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Solid understanding of WordPress core functionality, themes, and plugins.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Attention to detail and a passion for writing clean, efficient code.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other content management systems such as Drupal or Joomla.
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices.
- Familiarity with SEO principles and best practices.
- Experience with server management and hosting environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Contributions to the WordPress community, such as plugins or themes published on WordPress.org.
- Familiarity with CSS preprocessors such as Sass or LESS.
