Job Description



  • The successful candidate will be tasked with setting up a new geotechnical team and leveraging on our various retainers with oil and gas firms.

  • This Personnel's exciting role is primarily responsible for the geotechnical management of key clients across major survey and infrastructure projects.

  • He will act as the lead design engineer while managing and leading teams in the investigation of design and related tasks, this role will also have a strong Geotechnical Business Development function.

  • He will be Degree qualified in Engineering and have 3 years + of experience in project management of geotechnical projects in the oil and gas, transport, and tunneling.

  • He may be in a highly technical role but wants to make the move into a Management/Leadership position. Must also have excellent communication skills, advanced analytical skills, and a strong team focus.

  • He should be delegating tasks to the technical team for on-site inspections.

  • Apart from investigating, he should be willing to travel and work for an extended period on the site.

  • He should be highly motivated and organized.


Responsibilities



  • Developing a strategic business plan for the business as well as investigation plan for the sites.

  • Performing the geotechnical investigation as per the plan.

  • Collecting samples such as rock, sand, and similar substances from the site.

  • Analyzing the ground stress which includes capacity and stress levels.

  • Executing tests on the samples and noting down the contamination values.

  • Designing the projects based on the investigation performed.

  • Creating 2D and 3D models using computer applications.

  • Taking care of geological hazards while planning the project.

  • Setting budget and time constraints on ground investigations.

  • Assigning tasks to Geologists, Geotech Engineers, and other fellow consultants.

  • Suggesting necessary changes in the project as and when required.

  • Should be delegating tasks to the technical team for on-site inspections.

  • Preserving nature and protecting the environment.

  • Performing basic administrative tasks if required.

  • Approving plans designed by other geological Engineers.


Requirements



  • Candidates should possess Bachelor's Degrees in Engineering, preferably, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering. A Masters in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering would be advantageous.

  • 3 - 6 years relevant work experience.

  • He should have an excellent analytical mind and the ability to think with a strategic mindset.
