Purpose of the Job

• Support laboratory activities through sampling and preparation of experiments; maintaining tools and equipment and keeping logs and record books in accordance with established procedures.

The Job

• Collect, collate and input sample data into laboratory information system.


• Assist in carrying out laboratory tests; including pre- and post-analytic phases.


• Keep inventory of laboratory supplies by monitoring stock reorder level to always ensure availability.


• Perform daily cleanup of the laboratory and set up equipment/instrument in the laboratory.


• Correctly prepare calibrators and perform daily calibration of automated instruments to ensure accuracy of results.


• Perform daily and weekly maintenance on automated instruments to allow optimal performance.


• Carry out laboratory operations in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies.


• Document information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.

Qualifications

• OND in Laboratory Technology or any other Science related disciple.


• 5 O level credits including Mathematics & English in not more than 2 sittings/NABTEB/ Trade test.


• 2 years of experience in similar role.

The Person Must:

• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Proficient with laboratory safety and the ability to follow established protocols


• Keen understanding of laboratory practices and procedures


• Dexterity and precision to perform experiments


• Ability to work long hours while standing.
