Responsibilities


The Internal Control / verfication officers key responsiblities are:



  • Create sound internal controls and monitor adherence

  • Proactively audit processes, practices and documents to identify weaknesses

  • Evaluate business activities to assess compliance risk

  • Collaborate with internal auditors and HR when needed

  • Set plans to manage a crisis or compliance violation

  • Educate and train employees on regulations and industry practices

  • Keep abreast of internal standards and business goals

  • Confirm the ownership of the business (neighbor reference)

  • Confirm the business activity is correctly stated

  • During visitation, ensure clients shop and business address correspond with what is documented in the file

  • Review the value of clients’ goods in the shop/home to ensure that proper evaluation was conducted before presentation for approval

  • Note observations appropriately

  • Timely follow up and closure of assigned verification checks

  • Maintain day to day discipline in branch as per policies & procedures of the bank.

  • Meeting control requirements and maintaining integrity of data and reports.


Key Skills and Competencies



  • Good writing, communication, organizational and negotiation skill.

  • Possess proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).

  • Strong planning, organizational and time management abilities.

  • Experience in working with targets and tight deadlines

  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
