RESPONSIBILITIES
The LGA Team Lead’s responsibilities include the following and not limited to:
Team Management and Leadership
- Transmit FACT’s values and vision within the LGA Field Team.
- Provide team management and leadership within the team and the LGA at large.
- Develop a detailed monitoring plan for the assigned LGA, in coordination with the TPM Project Coordinator and relevant stakeholders.
- Schedule and organize field visits to project sites within the LGA, ensuring comprehensive coverage of project activities.
- Provide guidance and support to local monitors and field staff involved in monitoring activities.
Monitoring and Data Collection at the Field Level
- Oversee field monitoring activities, ensuring adherence to the monitoring plan and methodology.
- Lead the data collection efforts, including conducting interviews, surveys, and site visits as needed.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and quality of data collected by the monitoring team.
- Lead the review of activity reports, financial records, and other relevant documentation on-site.
- Conduct structured/unstructured interviews with beneficiaries, cooperating partners (CPs), and government/community stakeholders to gather feedback and assess impact.
- Oversee the use of the proper communication tool to provide regular updates on data collection activities and offer support and follow-up on identified challenges during the process.
- Ensure that the monitoring tools during distribution activities are administered for both quantitative and qualitative monitoring.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Organize and compile data collected from field visits, interviews, and documents.
- Verify the accuracy and reliability of the collected data through cross-checking, triangulation, and validation processes.
- Analyze data to identify trends, challenges, and successes related to project implementation and outcomes.
- Prepare regular reports summarizing monitoring findings, including key observations, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Present monitoring findings to relevant stakeholders, including cooperating partners (CP), government representatives, community leaders, beneficiaries at the field level and project supervisors.
- Conduct post-distribution debriefs and provide feedback to government and community stakeholders and cooperating partners on best practices, lessons learned and areas needing improvement.
Internal and External Relations
- Ensure routine communication of all field monitoring activities, work order progress, and other key findings to management in a timely and effective manner.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the LGA, including local government authorities, community leaders, and project beneficiaries.
- Facilitate meetings and consultations with government/community stakeholders to gather feedback on project impact and implementation.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with project objectives, guidelines, and ethical standards in all monitoring activities is maintained throughout the existence of the project at the LGA level.
- Conduct regular quality checks and validations of monitoring data and reports.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree with proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in a humanitarian sector.
- A Minimum of three (3) years working in humanitarian responses with previous experience in Third-Party Monitoring (TPM), an asset.
- Strong skills with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Drive, and other cloud-based software tools.
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
- Proven experience collecting information using hand-held GPS devices.
- Proven experience using ODK for quantitative data collection
- Proven experience conducting focus group discussions, or the ability to learn rapidly
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement.
- Positive attitude and a willingness to work and learn in a team.
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment requiring flexibility
- Fluency in written and spoken fluency in English is a must; additional fluency in Hausa and Fulfude is preferred.
