Job Purpose



  • The driver will provide driving services, manage the office vehicle, and provide transportation support to the project.


Job Description



  • Ensure timely and efficient transport of staff, consultants, and project supplies to and from destinations.

  • Always interact with staff and clients professionally

  • Daily cleaning of the vehicles and general checks to ascertain the condition of the vehicle

  • Ensure proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, tires, etc.

  • Ensure availability and up-to-date records of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, tool kit, etc.

  • Keep up-to-date kilometer usage, maintenance, and repair records

  • Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use

  • Ensure security measures for vehicles such as parking, storage of keys, emergency suppliers, etc. are all up to date

  • Ensure all safety kits, like a fire extinguisher, triangular caution sign, first aid kit, etc. are in the vehicle and up to date

  • Ensure all passengers are well seated with seat belts fastened prior to moving the vehicle

  • Ensure that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the team

  • Any other duties assigned


Competencies Required



  • Minimum of Secondary School Certificate qualification. An Ordinary National Diploma (OND) is preferred

  • A valid driver’s license and at least two years of driving experience are required. Long distance driving

  • Good knowledge and understanding of vehicle mechanics and the ability to carry out minor vehicle maintenance.

  • Good knowledge of Lagos (Island and Mainland)

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or driving role.

  • Time management and organizational skills to keep track of deliverables and stay on schedule

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • High level of integrity.

  • Present professional behavior and outlook always
