Job Description



  • We seek a highly qualified and experienced Geography teacher to join our team. The successful candidate willteachGeography to students at the secondary school level, developand implement engaging lesson plans, and assess student progress. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for Geography, excellent teaching skills, and theability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues.


Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans that cover a diverse range of geographical topics, using a varietyof instructional methods and resources.

  • Facilitate hands-on learning activities, field trips, and project-based assignments to reinforce the theoretical concepts taught in the classroom.

  • Assess students' progress and provide regular feedback to help them improve their understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Maintain detailed records of student performance, attendance, and any disciplinary issues.

  • Collaborate with other social science and science teachers to ensure a cohesive and integrated curriculum.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, research, and best practices in geography education.

  • Contribute to the overall development and enrichment of the school community, including participating in extracurricular activities related to geography or the environment.


Skills:



  • In-depth knowledge of the core areas of geography, including physical geography, human geography, and environmental studies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage students and convey information effectively.

  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Creativity and problem-solving skills to develop innovative lesson plans and activities.

  • Proficient use of relevant geographic information systems (GIS), mapping tools, and other technology used in geography.

Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree in Geography or a related field.

  • Teaching certification.

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience teaching geography or a related social science subject at the secondary level.

  • Demonstrated success in creating and implementing effective lesson plans and assessments.
