Job Description



  • We are looking for a qualified and experienced Optician to join our Eye Care Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including eye examinations, fitting and dispensing eyeglasses and contact lenses, and offering expert advice on eyewear and vision care.


Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct thorough eye examinations using advanced diagnostic equipment to assess patients' vision and detect any eye health issues.

  • Prescribe corrective lenses and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses based on patient's needs and preferences.

  • Provide expert advice on lens options, frames, and contact lenses to help patients make informed choices.

  • Adjust and repair eyeglasses to ensure optimal fit and comfort for patients.

  • Educate patients on proper eyewear care and maintenance.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in optometry and eyewear technology.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.

  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards.


Qualifications



  • Diploma or Degree in Optometry or a related field from a recognized institution.

  • Current registration with the relevant professional body in Nigeria.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Optician or in a related role.

  • Proficient in using optometric equipment and diagnostic tools.

  • Strong knowledge of eyewear products, lens options, and contact lenses.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
