Master’s Degree in Accounting/Related field is an added advantage
University degree in Accounting/Banking and Finance
At least 6 years experience in similar role
Experience:
Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Experience in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, payments, collections, and reconciliations.
Ability to prepare financial statements, month-end and year-end closing procedures, and financial analysis
Previous experience in the construction industry is highly valuable due to its specific accounting needs, such as project accounting, job costing, and understanding of construction contracts.
Familiarity with accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Experience in leading or supervising a team, as the role may involve overseeing other accounting staff or collaborating closely with project managers and other departments.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for interacting with vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders
Capability to identify discrepancies, analyze financial information, and propose solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy
Understanding of tax regulations, compliance requirements, and financial audits relevant to the construction industry.
Job Description
Lead the Payable and Receivable teams in ensuring proper account balancing at both ends.
Report to the Financial Controller on the team’s daily activities and
Confirm accuracy of received invoices from customers and transporters
Act as a point of contact between the team and Head of Accounts
Compile, type and prepare monthly reports using the designed template.
Oversee and supervise database entry of customers and transporters to ensure accuracy and minimal/zero error.
