Job Overview
- The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and profitability.
- This includes managing the day-to-day operations, optimizing storage and distribution processes, and developing commercial strategies to maximize the use of warehouse space.
- The ideal candidate will also lead a team of warehouse staff, ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
Job Responsibilities
Strategy
- Streamline operations and apply industry best practices in order to reduce errors.
- Articulate goals for the Unit across to relevant stakeholders across BPL.
- Conduct in-depth industry research to identify new market standards that BPL can adhere to
- Develop budget requests, projects, and training plans.
Reporting & Analytics
- Track and measure critical KPIs central to the business.
- Provide weekly and quarterly assessment reports of warehouse and logistics performance.
- Periodically assess operations to improve general warehouse and logistics operations Warehouse Operations.
- Oversee daily operations, while controlling and managing inventory and logistics.
- Provide guidance on daily activities of the warehouse, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service.
- Schedule and oversee warehouse team to meet the demands of the fulfillment center, and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.
- Meet regularly with the Warehouse Team Lead to review, analyze, and develop actionable plans for productivity and loss prevention.
Team Leadership
- Lead team members through the cycle.
- Coach and develop a Warehouse & Logistics team that can deliver on the imperatives of the BPL group.
Commercialization & Profitability
- Develop and implement strategies to commercialize warehouse space.
- Identify opportunities to lease or sell warehouse space to third parties.
- Manage the process of selling warehouse space, including marketing, negotiations, and closing deals.
- Develop processes to maximize the profitability of the warehouse, such as optimizing space utilization and reducing operational costs.
- Establish pricing models and negotiate contracts with clients.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant work experience as a Warehouse Manager
- First Degree (B.Sc.) preferably in Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
- Proven track record of ensuring optimal warehouse and logistical operations
- Proficiency with SCM+ for warehouse management
- Must have experience building and managing high-performing teams to deliver against aggressive goals
- Proficient knowledge of warehouse procedure and policy
- Comfortable delivering frequent direct written and oral feedback
- Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls
- Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures.
