Description


The role is responsible for managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. The Quantity Surveyor  minimize the costs of a project and enhance value for money while ensuring that the project meets all legal and quality assurance requirements and regulations.


Requirements



  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

  • Professional certification (e.g., MRICS, MNIQS) is highly preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in the oil and gas industry.

  • Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Ability to prepare BOQ, Labour and material schedule and conduct interim valuation

  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills 


Key Responsibilities:


Cost Management:



  • Prepare and analyse project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labor, and time.

  • Negotiate and analyse costs for tenders and contracts.

  • Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.


Contracts and Procurement:



  • Procure or agree on the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project.

  • Measure and value the work done on-site.

  • Liaise with the client and other construction professionals, such as site managers, project managers, and site engineers.


Financial Reporting:



  • Prepare cost reports and present to stakeholders.

  • Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use.

  • Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.


Risk Management:



  • Identify commercial risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.

  • Provide advice on contractual claims.


Project Planning and Control:



  • Ensure timely management of both temporary and permanent design to meet the requirements of each project.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with the project team to ensure project objectives are met.


Compliance and Standards:



  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, standards, and procedures.

  • Adhere to all legal standards and building regulations.
