Our client, a leading trading company based in Nigeria, specializing in exporting of high-quality agricultural products, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and developing the HR strategy for the organization, overseeing all HR functions and ensuring alignment with the overall objective for the business. Our client also has subsidiaries across other divisions.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and devise strategies for human resources that encompass recruitment, learning and development, performance management, rewards, benefits and incentives, and employee relations.
- Chart the course of HR metrics and reporting processes to monitor progress in achieving strategic HR goals.
- Create and execute a talent acquisition strategy to attract, hire, and retain exceptional individuals for all company functions.
- Create and implement a comprehensive onboarding program for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
- Establish a robust performance management system that fosters employee development and engagement, shaping the company culture.
- Oversee the organizational structure by cultivating positive employee relations and fostering a culture of open communication, trust, and respect.
- Create and enforce programs to promote workforce diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I).
- Demonstrate expertise in maintaining and utilizing a reliable HR system and processes to ensure accurate record keeping, data security, and efficient operations.
- Lead and guide the HR team, ensuring a high level of proficiency and effectiveness in all HR operational functions.
- Anticipate future talent requirements based on the organization's business goals and objectives.
- Ensure effective communication and successful implementation of change management initiatives across all business divisions.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- A relevant MBA / Master’s Degree is an added advantage
- 18 - 20 years’ experience, of which at least 5 years are in senior management role.
- In-depth knowledge of HR laws and regulations, trends and practices
- People Management and Leadership skills
- HR certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM or HRCI) or any relevant certificate
