Develop the risk management framework and related policies including the credit policy.
Manage all cross-enterprise risks including credit, market, and operational risks.
Manage credit concentration risks by recommending concentration limits at obligor and sector levels (where appropriate), and enforcing the limits.
Establish a mechanism for reporting excess/exceptions above approved limits.
Develop product papers and recommend risk acceptance criteria for different products and customer segments.
Ensure the timely review and analysis of credit requests from individuals and corporates.
Review credit memos and make recommendations to the approving authorities as appropriate.
Review and approve loan disbursement schedules.
Review offer letters and loan/lease agreements.
Ensure loan accounts are properly booked on the company’s Core Banking System.
Ensure credit files are complete and properly maintained in the file room.
Monitor the credit portfolio, provide periodic reports on past due obligations, and escalate deviations and covenant breaches to Executive Management as required.
Ensure all cross-enterprise risks are properly mitigated and controlled.
Perform any other duty as directed by the Managing Director.
Requirements
Prior working experience in the Financial Services Industry is mandatory
Minimum of BSc. or HND degree in Accounting or any related discipline
MBA or M.Sc. in Accounting or any Finance related field would be an added advantage
Minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proven working experience as a Risk Management Professional
Technology savvy, and high level of proficiency in MS. Office (particularly MS. Excel)
