Job Summary
- Work directly with Engineers and other Staff to Support the processing of print requests, production of printed parts, inventories of print materials, and the maintenance of associated 3D printers.
- Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Health and Safety Management Systems (QHS).
- Designs and manages fabrication or acquisition of fixtures used in various processes. Ensures the successful implementation of fixtures on the production floor.
- Assists in creating programs (such as Laser Marking programs, CNC programs), 3D models, associated fixtures, drawings, templates, overlays, etc. Role is office based.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics with post graduation in Tool & Die Making / Fabrication
- Demonstrated ability to develop experimental concepts quickly and iterate based on empirical evidence
- Experience in mechanical prototyping design and assembly: mechanically inclined, able to work with their hands to design, assemble/disassemble, modify, and operate test apparatuses
- Experience using CAD software (Solidworks) preferred
- Ability to operate manual machine tools (basic lathe, mill)
- Use of hand and power tools
- Previous experience with 3D printers and other additive manufacturing techniques, preferred but not required
- Good manual dexterity and practical hands-on skills, competent with the use of hand tools
- There are physical and manual elements to the job, the ability to handle these elements is essential.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as being able to work within a team. An understanding of the requirement to follow procedures in order to maintain high standards of health and safety.
