Overview

A leading diesel generator company in Africa is looking for field sales cum service engineers for diesel generators in Lagos, Nigeria. Having been in the power-associated business in India and Africa, they work with clients across a wide range of industries including construction, manufacturing, hospitals, and many more.

As the Field sales cum Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing a range of well-known diesel generators ranging from 15KVA to 1MW.

We are ideally looking for candidates who have good experience in sales, maintaining and servicing a various range of diesel generator. Previous experience working on generators such as Kirloskar, Perkins, Cummins, Caterpillar, and FG Wilson would be advantageous.

Role Description

• Regular service of Generators at the customer site


• Carry out fault finding and diagnosis to a range of diesel generator sets.


• Resolve electrical and mechanical engine problems.


• Replacing electrical and mechanical components.


• Carry out basic engine servicing.


• Carry out site testing.


• Be a part of the on-call rota.


• Customer liaison, update and ensure complete customer satisfaction.


• Adhere to company health & safety standards.

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience working on Diesel Generators.


• Completed an apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Diesel or Plant Fitting, or have a relevant qualification in one of those courses.


• Ideally strong knowledge of diesel generators such as Kirloskar, Perkins, FG Wilson.


• Able to use own initiative as well as working as part of a team.


• Good customer service and communication skills.
