Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager / Associate Director to lead and oversee research activities within the department.


• This role will play a key role in shaping the research direction of the department, managing research teams, securing funding, and ensuring the successful completion of research projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategic research agenda for the department, aligned with the institute's overall mission.


• Secure research funding through grants, contracts, and other funding mechanisms.


• Manage and mentor a team of researchers, including post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, and research staff.


• Oversee the development and execution of research projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines, budgets, and research quality standards.


• Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and external partners to develop and implement interdisciplinary research initiatives.


• Disseminate research findings through publications, presentations, and other communication channels.


• Manage departmental budget and resources effectively.


• Stay current on emerging trends in the research field and identify new research opportunities.


• Provide leadership and guidance to the research team in areas such as research ethics, data management, and scientific integrity.


• Represent the department in meetings and conferences.

Qualifications

• MSc in a relevant field or equivalent experience.


• Minimum of 10 years of experience in research management.


• Demonstrated experience in securing research funding.


• Proven track record of leading and mentoring research teams.


• Strong leadership and communication skills.


• Excellent organizational and time management skills.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Experience in grant writing and proposal development is a plus.


• Experience in research project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) is a plus.
