About the role
- As the Senior Business Development Manager, you’ll identify and pursue new sales prospects and develop strategies that align with Rensource’s goals within the energy industry.
- You will also be tasked with negotiating commercially viable deals for all stakeholders.
What you’ll do
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies in line with Rensource’s strategic goals.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities via several channels to secure sizeable renewable energy and hybrid contracts with Commercial and Industrial clients
- Conduct thorough market research to identify trends and opportunities whilst developing strategies that would provide an advantage for Rensource in the renewable energy/hybrid sector in Africa.
- Develop market entry and expansion strategies tailored to different markets within Africa.
- Provide strategic and commercial insights and recommendations to senior management on potential markets and business models.
- Oversee the development and execution of renewable energy/hybrid projects from inception to financial close, ensuring they meet technical, commercial, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, ESG and legal, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Oversee project progress, swiftly resolve issues, and ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
- Build a strong network of industry contacts to enhance the Rensource’s strategic positioning.
- Prepare pricing models and drive the Investment committee discussions for potential project investments.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, suppliers, and partners to ensure commercially viable terms for Rensource Energy
- Lead commercial discussions and agreements with potential clients and stakeholders’ relationship-building with stakeholders to leverage the network for business opportunities and partnerships.
Your skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, sales, and marketing or similar fields.
- At least eight years of experience in sales, business development in commercial space
- Proven ability with a strong focus on performance results - evidence of consistently achieving sales targets through different approaches in current and past employment.
- Able to work effectively in a single contributor role and project team setting given the high-pressure and complex business environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Advanced presentation and Excel skills would be prioritized
