Job Description

• We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Manager to join our Aluminum and Copper Scrap Recycling Plant.


• The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance processes, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance with industry regulations.


• The Quality Assurance Manager will develop and implement quality management systems, lead quality improvement initiatives, and manage a team of quality assurance professionals.

Work Environment:

• The Quality Assurance Manager will work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.


• Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required to ensure safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive quality management system (QMS) in line with industry standards and regulations.


• Oversee the inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet quality specifications.


• Lead and manage the quality assurance team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.


• Conduct regular audits of the production process to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with quality standards.


• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to develop and implement quality control processes and procedures.


• Analyze quality data and trends to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.


• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations related to quality assurance activities.


• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the quality of incoming materials meets required standards.


• Prepare and present quality reports to senior management, highlighting key quality metrics and areas for improvement.


• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve overall process efficiency.


• Develop and maintain documentation related to quality assurance, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality records.


• Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quality assurance and recycling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Materials Science / Quality Management, or a related field.


• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in the recycling or manufacturing industry preferably in an aluminum or metal recycling environment.


• Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent) and quality control methodologies.


• Proven experience in leading and managing a team of quality assurance professionals.


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address quality issues effectively.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.


• Proficiency in using quality management software and tools.


• Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations related to quality assurance in a recycling plant.


• Certification in quality assurance (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) is a plus.
