Job Description

• We're seeking an experienced Backend Developer to join our innovative team at Syx Labs, a pioneer in blockchain and AI solutions in Africa.


• As a Backend Developer, you'll lead the development and maintenance of our backend services, APIs, and applications, driving technical excellence and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, efficient, and reliable backend systems


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements


• Work with frontend developer and product designer to deliver quality work


• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code in languages like nodejs, typescript.


• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase


• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies


• Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth deployment and monitoring of backend services

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in backend development with good expertise in nodejs, typescript and python


• Ability to use automation software such as Retool Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms


• Experience with containerization (Docker), cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), and agile development methodologies


• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a logical and methodical approach


• Effective communication and collaboration skills


• Self-starter, and able to work independently without much supervision.


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field

Nice to Have

• Experience with microservices architecture, event-driven design, and service-oriented architecture


• Knowledge of NoSQL databases and caching mechanisms


• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, or other DevOps tools


• Participation in open-source projects or personal coding projects
