Responsibilities
- The Technical Assistant - PCT will collaborate with the Senior Technical Officer-PCT in assisting to provide technical support for multidisciplinary HIV/AIDS care and treatment, working with organization clinicians and health facility-based site teams to implement care and antiretroviral treatment services.
- Assist in the integration of HIV services within the health sector and to strengthen the clinical components of Tuberculosis, Malaria, and other diseases.
- Assist in the management of HIV/AIDS strategies and approaches in the implementation of programs and will work with relevant stakeholders to coordinate the design and implementation of facility-based programs in relation to the clinical management of HIV/AIDS, including the use of antiretroviral treatment, TB HIV services integration, PMTCT, care, and support.
- S/He will provide day-to-day technical and programmatic support related to Clinical Management of HIV/AIDS and PMTCT. Provide technical support to implement high-quality care, treatment, and support activities with primary focus on clinical management of HIV/AIDS including provision of antiretroviral therapy (ART).
- Assist in the development of strategies for the design and implementation of HIV/AIDS mitigation interventions. This includes orphans and vulnerable children programming, home-based care, and other care and support activities at the community level.
- Coordinate the design and implementation of components related to the clinical management of HIV/AIDS, including the use of antiretroviral treatment in field-level projects and programs.
- Provide technical assistance in HIV/AIDS care and support capacity building at the state level.
- Work with relevant technical staff to adapt and disseminate guidelines, tools, and procedures that will support the achievement of quality service delivery.
- Provide technical assistance in HIV/AIDS prevention and mitigation capacity building to field programs and develop guidelines, tools, and recommendations related to the implementation, and evaluation of prevention and mitigation of HIV/AIDS.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Recruitment Standard
- MBBS/MD, BSc/BA in Statistics, Pharmacy, Microbiology, Physiology, or other health-related degrees with 1-year post NYSC work experience.
- Master’s degree in public health, Health Informatics, Epidemiology, or other relevant disciplines will be an added advantage.
- Experience in project-level or state/national-level monitoring and evaluation system implementation for Global Health Initiatives.
