The WASH Officer will be responsible for implementing WASH-related activities in the community, focusing on hygiene promotion, water source management, and program monitoring.
The officer will engage with community leaders, stakeholders, and households to ensure the effective delivery of WASH services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate community engagement meetings and small group sessions with LGA leaders and stakeholders.
Conduct house-to-house visits for hygiene promotion using Cholera flipcharts.
Distribute WASH kits and Aquatab to households.
Map water sources, conduct water quality assessments, and implement source chlorination.
Monitor program activities regularly, establishing reference points against impact.
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective program implementation.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Science, or related field.
Experience in WASH programming, preferably in humanitarian contexts.
Strong communication and community engagement skills.
Ability to work in challenging field environments.
Fluency in English and local languages (Hausa, Kanuri).
