Job Description
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
A small size Financial Management Consulting firm is in urgent need of an experienced Accountant with proficiency in Accounting and Book keeping.
Competency in the knowledge of Booking keeping, preparation of Management account and Audited financial statement independently is mandatory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY
- Ability to perform Accounting, Book-keeping and Auditing functions independently without supervision.
- Must be working or have worked in an Auditing firm recently.
Key responsibilities
Competency in the Knowledge of Book-keeping, Accounting
- Preparation of cash flow statements,
- Preparation of Income and Expenditure account,
- Preparation of Statement of Affairs and Management account
- Preparation of Financial statement.
- Generate Financial statement from Incomplete records
- Ability to use several Accounting packages.
- Sound and thorough knowledge of finance and accounting principles, procedures and practice.
- Knowledge of IFRS accounting.
Competency in Auditing functions
- Ability to perform Audit of Micro and SME companies independently.
- Ability to perform Audit of large corporate organization independently.
- Knowledge of Audit of various sector of businesses
- Ability to perform Credit and Financial statement analysis and appraisal.
- Provide strategic financial analysis and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the Company.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft – Ms Words, Excel, Powerpoint etc…..
- Proficiency in the use of Accounting software – Quickbooks, Sage, Zoho etc..
- Decision making and problem solving skills.
- Ability to grow the business
- Building strong relationships with existing customers, and growing same business profitability to achieve organization’s set goals and objectives.
- Ability to grow the firm’s business by pitching for new opportunities, businesses, relationships, contracts and retainership businesses.
Work Experience
- Minimum of a recent 3 Years proven work experience in an Accounting and Auditing firm.
- Proficiency in the usage of Microsoft Words, Excel and Powerpoint, Accounting packages – Quickbooks and Sage.
Education and Qualifications Requirements
- HND/BSc/BA in Accounting
- Student /Membership of ACCA/ICAN is a plus
