Job Summary:
The Account Officer is responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining financial records, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role involves reconciling accounts, processing payments, and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Transactions:
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
Account Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank statements and financial records.
- Verify and resolve discrepancies in financial accounts.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date account ledgers.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain organized and secure financial records.
- Ensure all financial transactions are documented accurately.
- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation.
Customer and Vendor Relations:
- Manage customer and vendor accounts.
- Address inquiries and resolve issues related to accounts.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
Internal Controls:
- Implement and monitor internal controls to prevent fraud and errors.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance.
Support Services:
- Assist in financial planning and analysis.
- Provide support during financial audits and inspections.
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Account Officer or similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
