JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 



  • Provide legal advisory support to the company and management on all matters.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's compliance program.

  • Create and update compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Ensure the compliance program aligns with current laws and regulations.

  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Maintain and update legal files and databases.

  • Advise on the interpretation of laws and regulations, monitoring any amendments to them and updating management on the implications of such.

  • Review or supervise the work of external counsel to ensure accuracy.

  • Assist in reviewing all offering/investment memoranda.

  • Perform compliance functions with manuals and procedure while maintaining exception reports as may be required.

  • Monitor compliance with statutory obligations and advise management accordingly.

  • Prepare periodic reports such as weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually as required


EDUCATIONAL & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION



  • BL, LLB 

  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in legal, governance and regulatory roles.

  • Financial services will be added advantage.


COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS



  • Excellent writing skills.

  • Legal drafting and contract negotiation skills.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Decisiveness and ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Commercial awareness.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks and requirements.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
