Job Description

• The Mechanical Engineer will oversee installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and machinery in our maize milling operations.


• This role requires expertise in maize/corn milling processes to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of our production facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment in the maize mill.


• Ensure machinery operates efficiently, and safely, and complies with industry standards.


• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.


• Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment lifespan.


• Collaborate with production teams to optimize milling processes and improve efficiency.


• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.


• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.


• Provide technical support and training to mill operators and maintenance staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.


• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering within the milling industry, preferably in maize/corn milling.


• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and machinery used in maize mills.


• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• Proficient in using maintenance management software and tools.
