We are currently seeking a a Safety Officer at our facility in Awka, Anambra State, to effectively manage and enforce safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment on the company's shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee safety protocols and procedures on the shop floor.


• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.


• Identify potential hazards and take proactive measures to prevent accidents and injuries.


• Investigate any accidents or incidents on the shop floor and prepare detailed reports.


• Conduct safety training sessions for employees to promote a culture of safety.


• Ensure that all safety equipment and devices are properly maintained and in good working condition.


• Maintain up-to-date records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.


• Prepare and put up safety signages regularly.


• Stay informed about the latest safety regulations and best practices in the industry.


• Prepare and submit regular reports on safety activities and performance to management.

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of HND in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field.


• At least 2 years proven experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role in a manufacturing or industrial setting.


• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices.


• Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.


• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed reports.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Microsoft Excel.


• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement practical solutions.


• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks.


• Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is preferred.
