Job Summary
The Technical Service Engineer (TSE) provides the required technical support to the Sales, Projects, Operations, and Management teams, and monitors company-supplied Products and Services to ensure they meet the required OEM and industry standards and exceed Customer’s expectations.
Main Responsibilities
CUSTOMER RELATIONS
- Performs quarterly customer surveys for the quality of COMPANY services supplied to Customers and organizes quarterly Customer service quality meetings.
SALES
- Contributes to the technical input of bids/tenders, and participates in sales calls.
- Recommends new markets and business opportunities to Management
TECHNICAL
- Acts as the company’s internal specialist for machinery and performance analysis
- Ensures oil and coolant samples are collected from all COMPANY-operated equipment, sent to CAT SOS Lab in PH, results are reviewed and interpreted, and recommendations made to Management and Customer.
- Generates technical specifications, performance runs/limits, and parts lists for COMPANY-operated equipment
- Creates a technical library that includes parts manuals, O&M manuals, drawings, etc for company-owned and/or Operated Equipment.
OPERATIONS
- Implements and manages a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and develops and monitors the implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance plans and schedules
- Participates in overhaul and commissioning of CAT engines, when required follows up on the performance of company-overhauled equipment, and makes performance improvement recommendations.
- Leads Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for any major and catastrophic equipment failures and coordinates corrective actions to prevent a re-occurrence and minimize equipment downtime.
TRAINING
- Works with O&M Supervisors to conduct annual technical competency assessment for COMPANY field personnel, prepares training plans, and organizes and conducts in-house training activities
- Keeps abreast of natural gas engine and other rotating equipment technologies
Educational Qualifications and Skills
- Technical or Engineering degree in Industrial Processes, Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum
- 10 – 15 years total experience with at least 7 years of hands-on field experience
- COREN certification + NSE membership
- Hands-on experience with CAT G3500 and G3600 engines and Ariel compressors
- Hands-on experience with Waukesha engines and Dresser-Rand compressors
- Operating experience with Altronic and Murphy Control Panels, DCS & PLC dynamic control systems
- Good knowledge of PC tools (Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project)
- Good knowledge of CMMS and Inventory Management Systems.
- Leadership skills must be able to multi-task, & perform under pressure
- Must be able to work safely and mentor less experienced technicians
- Good report-writing skills
- Good team player
- Good knowledge of root cause analysis techniques
- Good interpersonal, communication
- Ability to read/understand P&ID-PFD-ISO
- Good supervision skill
