Our client, an indigenous Nigerian oil and gas company is currently seeking to recruit result-driven Chief Operating Officer. The role is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for the overall administrative operations, including staff and service administration. This role involves effectively and efficiently managing the development and direction of the operational team to drive revenue growth, enhance technical productivity, and promote high-quality customer satisfaction. Additionally, it focuses on building relationships and ensuring the integration of strategic plans with company operations.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Responsible for the execution of the Company’s quarterly and annual financial goals in line with the company’s vision, mission and core values.


2. Be the driving force in identifying and developing new opportunities for the organization to sustain growth.


3. Maintain an on-going, transparent dialogue with the Director to ensure the Director is kept up to date with day to day activities.


4. Manage the Management Team to ensure that the organization meets its obligations to clients and stakeholders.


5. Develop and maintain an effective marketing and public relations strategy to promote our services to a wider market specific audience.


6. Develop annual operational plan, engaging key internal and external stakeholders. Oversee the strategic alignment and direction of various projects and programs across regions.


7. Oversee and manage company operations and Programme of work, engaging with team leads and implementing appropriate tools with which to track, monitor and evaluate projects and activity across the company.


8. Set up and manage the company financial administration, working with Finance and Account to establish appropriate processes and systems. This will include managing the operational budget on a day-to-day basis.


9. Develop and maintain research and development programmes to ensure that the company remains at the forefront in the industry, applies the most cost effective methods and approaches, provides a leading edge, unique service which ensures the company remains competitive


10. Directly involved in managing job cost analysis on all projects to ensure consistent profitability on all jobs, and to identify and make improvements where needed


11. Directly involved in achieving high customer satisfaction on all projects from pre-award through the end of warranty to help achieve Company goals as measured by Customer Experience surveys.


12. Review of the Company’s current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to effectively manage the organization's delivery activities and its projected growth.


13. Maintain a safe workspace by enforcing standards and procedures and keeping compliance with legal regulations


14. Keep abreast of industry news and market forces that may have both an adverse or positive influence on the organization.


15. Ensure that the appropriate structures, systems and processes are in place to keep the organization abreast of industry policy, legislative changes/impact


16. Perform other activates assigned by the Director.

Qualifications/Requirement

1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline


2. Masters in Business Administration is an added advantage  


3. Recognized professional Certifications is an added advantage


4. Highly skilled in setting strategic direction, developing and executing strategic business plans


5. Experienced in working within a target-driven environment and managing a senior team, financial management/ and interpretive ability.


6. Ability to apply analytical reasoning in all operational and strategic financial matters 


7. Experienced in developing and maintaining a business development network 


8. The capacity and capability to encourage innovation and creativity within the organization


9.  Excellent presentation skills Excellent communication skills, written and oral 


10. A leader who demonstrates high levels of decision-making and influence 


11. Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their ethnic, cultural, social backgrounds, their gender, age and religious belief.


12. Ability to multitask and deliver excellence.


13. Minimum of 10 years of cognate experience in the same role with a proven track record, 5 of which should be at  a Senior Management level.
